"Light the candles, pop the cork on the wine bottle."

This is a very smooth and intelligent album. Debbie Deane has blended jazz, r&b and folk into a room-filling mixture while her lyrics reveal moments from love's yearning for a gentle touch, a kind word, a calm surrounding and a child's reassuring smile that everything is going to be alright. This is also a great blend of composition and musicianship. The music plays as well in the background as it does in the foreground. This is nothing but a terrific album.

This C.D. now lives in my player. An amazingly well written and performed debut album. you will be taken by the structure of the songs, playing and realize just how many songs will stay in your head only after a few listens. Debbie's voice and piano playing will be looked upon in years to come as one of the biggest surprises to come out of New York in a long time. She is also very beautiful. (sorry had to throw that in)

I love this CD! So many songs stay in your head. Great accompaniment from some of the best young jazz players in the business. And how romantic it is, too, we love to make love while listening to this unheralded soul-jazz-funk diva from Brooklyn.
